How does my past influence who I am today?

  • A: Much like the rings of a tree, our past experiences aren't "behind" us; they are within us. A difficult season years ago might still affect how you bend or grow today. By exploring these "inner rings" in a psychodynamic space, we make sense of your history so it no longer has to dictate your future.

I feel like I don’t truly know myself. Where do we begin?

  • A: Many of us have spent years "weathering the storm" or adapting to satisfy others, losing touch with our own core. We begin by creating a quiet, non-judgmental space—a clearing in the woods—where your true thoughts and feelings can safely emerge from the shadows.

What is the benefit of exploring "difficult" family dynamics?

  • A: It is not about assigning blame or finding a "right" way to act. It is about understanding the climate you grew up in. When we understand the "weather" of our childhood, we can begin to see why we developed certain defences—like thick bark or deep roots—and decide if those defences are still serving us today.

How does understanding the "why" lead to actual change?

  • A: Awareness is the first light of dawn. When we shift from "Why is this happening to me?" to "I see how this part of my history is showing up right now," the pattern loses its power over you. Change happens naturally when you are no longer a stranger to your own internal world.

Why do I find myself repeating the same patterns in my life? *

A: We often carry an internal "blueprint" created in our earliest years. Without realising it, we may recreate familiar landscapes in our adult lives—even painful ones—because they are what we know. Therapy is about looking at that blueprint together, understanding why it was drawn that way, and realizing you now have the pen in your own hand.
